Launching in early 2027, the new quiz show builds on BBC Studios Digital Brands’ growing creative partnerships with online talent
Our ambition is to build the next generation of entertainment brands, and collaborating with creators like Max is a big part of that. He brings a brilliant combination of wit, curiosity and mischief, alongside a real understanding of what keeps his audiences coming back. Working with Max and Strong Watch Studios on The Quiz Vault, we’re bringing that energy together with BBC Studios’ quiz expertise to create something fresh for fans."
BBC Studios Digital Brands has announced The Quiz Vault, a new quiz show produced by Strong Watch Studios and hosted by creator and comedian Max Fosh, launching in early 2027 on its new Quiz and Trivia YouTube channel.
Blending a raft of entertaining games and quiz-show mechanics with engaging celebrity chat, every episode sees Max challenge a guest to a fast-paced quiz marathon where the game changes after every round. Each one brings a new challenge, drawing on the rich history of television quizzes alongside completely original games making their debut. Between rounds, Max's humour and curiosity will bring out unexpected stories from his guests.
The new Quiz and Trivia channel will bring together archive from some of the world's most iconic quiz brands, including The Weakest Link and A Question of Sport, alongside Impossible, This is My House and Answer Run, curated collections, play-along clips and original shows. Developed in collaboration between BBC Studios' Digital Brands and Global Content teams and Strong Watch Studios, The Quiz Vault will use that extraordinary quiz heritage as a springboard for new ideas, testing original games with digital audiences with a view to developing the most successful into standalone formats.
The commission builds on BBC Studios’ work with creators since the launch of TalentWorks in 2018, supporting talent including Amelia Dimoldenberg, David Jonsson and Hammed Animashaun to explore new creative opportunities. Recent collaborations across BBC Studios include DanTDM joining Bluey Book Reads and Kobie Jordan and Bryan Millar Walker teaming up for travel series Scran & Scramble: An American in Scotland.
Jasmine Dawson, SVP, Digital, BBC Studios Digital Brands, said: "Our ambition is to build the next generation of entertainment brands, and collaborating with creators like Max is a big part of that.
Karl Warner, EVP, Global Creator Partnerships & Creative Development, BBC Studios Global Content, added: "Quiz Vault shows what's possible when iconic BBC Studios IP meets outstanding creative talent. It's celebrating our quiz heritage while testing ideas with the potential to become the next great format, and it's been fantastic to bring it to life with Max, Strong Watch Studios and our Digital Brands team."
Powell-Jones and Gulseven, Strong Watch Studios, said: "With The Quiz Vault, we saw an opportunity to combine an extraordinary quiz heritage with a fresh creative approach for YouTube. The Quiz Vault is the first expression of that vision, and we’ve loved developing the format and its games with BBC Studios and around Max’s particular brand of curiosity and mischief. It’s exciting to see our original pitch come to life with so much scope for what comes next."
Max Fosh said: "I have never won a quiz and rather than train my general knowledge, I have decided instead that I’m just going to host quizzes instead. You can't lose if you're not playing. I'm very much excited to chat to my guests but also looking forward to seeing what kind of quiz names my guests come up with. I shall be banning any quiz prefixes however. Les Quizerables? no thank you. Agatha Quiztie? Not on this show. Trivia Newton-John? Okay, that one is quite good. Anyway, it's going to be a lot of fun."
Launching in early 2027 on the Quiz and Trivia YouTube channel, The Quiz Vault is produced by Strong Watch Studios for BBC Studios and commissioned by Chris Ambrose.
Further details will be announced in due course.
